Chain Store Age, which is celebrating 100 years publishing news about chain stores has identified 20 visionary retailers who, over the course of the past 100 years, have altered the retail landscape and transformed the way people shop.

Among them are Walmart’s Sam Walton, Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Maxine Clark, Gap Inc.’s Don Fisher, McDonald's Ray Kroc, Whole Foods Market’s John Mackey, L Brands’s Les Wexner, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, The Home Depot’s Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank and other brilliant retailers.
